This month’s Update opens with a reflection on the changing season. Even though the temperatures still feel like midsummer, fall has officially arrived—bringing baseball playoffs, football weekends, pumpkin spice everything, and even a few over‑enthusiastic Halloween displays in our neighborhood. October also brings Columbus Day, a reminder of a man who crossed an ocean with courage but often struggled with direction. His voyages were bold, but his maps were flawed.
The contrast is striking. While Columbus sailed with uncertainty, God has given His people clear direction. He not only tells us where to go—He goes with us. The Great Commission is not optional, nor is it reserved for pastors or missionaries. Jesus did not say, “You might be witnesses,” or “You should be witnesses.” He said, “You will be witnesses… to the ends of the earth.” Every believer is called to follow God’s map, trusting the One who leads us with perfect clarity.
This month’s update also includes:
- A look at our busy fall ministry schedule, beginning with preaching at The Wilds Christian Camp for their Father‑Son Campout.
- Ministry at Westgate Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC, followed by Missions Emphasis Sundays in Alexandria, VA, and Rockville, MD.
- Opportunities to challenge the next generation at Faith Baptist Bible College and Appalachian Bible College, calling students to consider full‑time missionary service.
- A reminder that God continues to open doors for EMU International to encourage churches, strengthen missionaries, and raise up new workers for the harvest.

I am continuing to build my 2026 calendar. You can view my schedule here: pastorjeffdavis.com/schedule. I would love the privilege of visiting your church and sharing how God is strengthening national leaders and advancing the Gospel across the lands. We are also praying for additional monthly financial partners. Your support helps missionaries stay spiritually healthy, encouraged, and equipped for the work God has entrusted to them. For more information, contact me at jeff@emuinternational.org or click here to give today.
